  • Connecting KM Students with UW Mentors

    The is a student-initiated college-access and retention program that partners UW students with first-generation and low-income students in the Seattle area high schools to assist in the college admissions process (including SAT prep, applications, essays, applying for financial aid, and finding scholarships).

    The program has a dual-focus approach.

    1. Give high school students the assistance they may not be able to receive at home or from other areas of their lives 
    2. Simultaneously teach UW students about educational opportunity and social mobility and examine these ideas in the context of the University of Washington

    Weekly Meetings

    The program meets two times a week.

    1. As an entire class as part of the UW course
    2. As a smaller group at their assigned high school to work with the students

    At Kent-Meridian, Dream Project mentors visit every Wednesday in the library.

    • During High School & Beyond (HSB)
    • During second period on non-HSB days

    Sign Up 

    The Dream Project program is open to juniors in the spring and seniors in the fall and winter.
